karkalec
I've used utorrent for quite a while now and absolutely love it. Today I upgraded the stock firmware on my Linksys WRT54G to DD-WRT v23 sp2 to try to improve the crappy quality of my Vonage phone calls. Now my utorrent speeds are terrible. I have the port I'm using forwarded in the router but it's still really poor. Anyone else figured out how to deal with this one? Thanks,Justin
abbad0n
Look at the QoS settings: http://www.wi-fiplanet.com/tutorials/article.php/3649346Also try the forums at dd-wrt.com since they probably would have more experience with this problem. sven007
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Quality_of_ServiceThis guide explains everything perfectly. for utorrent, i suggest creating a new rule, and just have it check the utorrent port. once that is done, use that rule, and put it to bulk. also, according to that link, the port rules *only* work in WRT54G v1.0, 1.1, 2.0 and the WRT54GS v1.0. You will have to find the port for you VOIP, or which computer it's connected to, and once you know that, set it to premium or even exclusive. Since uTorrent is on bulk, it will get out of the way when you need bandwidth.check your speed at http://www.speedtest.com, thats what i used.
