SilentBob66
Hi, I'm having a problem getting ports open. I get this message when I use the speed checker. Error! Port 57496 does not appear to be open.I've tried many different ports but they are all the same. My setup is webstar cable modem, Norton AV, Zone Alarm fire wall. I know the problem is not my modem because my other computer can connect fine with Zone Alarm and AVG anti virus. On this computer, even if I shut zone alarm off I still can't open any ports. I'm wondering if there is a service that allows ports to be open that I could check?
Ultima
Uninstall ZoneAlarm and see if it helps. If so, then it's probably a misconfigured ZoneAlarm (or just ZA being stupid).
SilentBob66
Nope. I un-installed zone alarm but still have the same problem.Any other ideas?

SilentBob66
That seems to have worked, but won't that leave my computer vulnerable to attacks?(I didn't have this problem on my other PC, but that one was running AVG anti-virus. Maybe I'll switch this one to AVG as well)
Ultima
Reinstall ZoneAlarm and see if it continues to work, I suppose...
