genezix Posted April 21, 2007 Report Posted April 21, 2007 Hey, I noticed when uTorrent (on an XP machine) maps a port via uPnP in my router, it's labeled "utorrent". What if two uTorrents are running behind the same NAT gateway? If both are trying to label themselves "utorrent" would the router reject the second mapping? uPnP doesn't seem to be working on my Vista machine using uTorrent, but my router passes the Internet Gateway Device test from Microsoft, including the uPnP section.
Ultima Posted April 21, 2007 Report Posted April 21, 2007 Doubtful... the naming is just that -- naming. I'm no authority on UPnP (far from it), but intuitively, I would expect that a simple naming for the temporary port forwarding shouldn't determine whether a port forwarding request should be accepted or rejected. That would be a stupid design decision. Are there any error messages in the Logger tab under Vista when UPnP fails?
