raleigh03g Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 i cant seem to connect to my router using the ip address in the browser bar, i know that my ip address is correct but when i type it in it just comes up as not found, i got my ip address from the status bar of my network connection, ive used Run-cmd-ping and all seems fine. Any ideas would be great thanks
Ultima Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 Does the IP start with 192.168.x.x, 172.16.x.x, or 10.x.x.x?
raleigh03g Posted June 5, 2007 Author Report Posted June 5, 2007 it starts with 192.168. im using a laptop with a belkin wireless network adapter.
Ultima Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 http://www.portforward.comTelling us your network adapter is useless. We need to know your router. In any case, look for the *router's* model over at portforward.com and follow the instructions.
raleigh03g Posted June 6, 2007 Author Report Posted June 6, 2007 YEA SORRY, MY ROUTER IS A LINKSYS 54gsive tried to port forwad, i have set up my static ip on my end but i cant get into the router to complete it. ive used the run-cmd-ipconfig/all and im using all the correct ip data.it just wont work, im typing it into the browser bar and im following all the instructions on the setup static ip instructions but when i get to the part which involves connecting to the router im stuckim stumped any ideas??thanks so much
Ultima Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 Make sure you set your computer to have a static IP up outside of the router's DHCP range -- so make it something like 192.168.1.50 or whatever.
