help with seeds/peers

im kinda novice at the whole torrent thing, used to have vuze but now have this, and with both, the problem is there are no seeds or peers, im not stupid i know to get torrents that have seeds, and i do, some with over 600 seeds and only like 10 peers, and still it says there is no seeds or peers when i download, could you suggest something? i live in a university accomodation, maybye they have something that blocks it? if so is there a way to get round it? thanks
