adslpt
After following and reading all the forum about slow downloads, I still get very slow downloads. I've done the ADSL test (with) utorrent switched off, and the downstream come up to 4Mbit. Every time I have utorrent switch on with downloads in progress, I notice that I'm not able to navigate normal everyday webpages. Even google take time to load, this with utorrent downstream at 20kB. Where is the rest of the bandwidth? This only happens with utorrent, why?. Upstream is always at maximum capacity (25kB).Port Forward OK (result from port test).Router SpeedTouch ST780 has firewall disabled.Windows XP3 and Windows Firewall has exception configured. Can someone help? The_Nephilim
Do you have the Upload & Download on Unlimited??
adslpt
Yes, I have both on unlimited. I've always had it configured this way and never had any problems.
Ultima
Well, you shouldn't leave uploads unlimited. By doing so, you're choking your connection's ability to respond to received packets, which in turn causes delays in peers sending data to you (hence, slowdowns in download speeds). Follow the setup guide.
adslpt
Thanks for that pointer, my downstream is better, but not at it's original bandwidth. I'm usually am able to download at much larger speeds. I don't think its a 100%. Downloading the "Slackware 10.2 torrent" the max downwidth speed went up to 47kB (this on a 248/4.095 ADSL Connection). With utorrent off, I'm able to download at great speeds. One small question, I'm getting these errors with utorrent switched on, is it related and does someone know what this means: FEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 0CRC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 8.882HEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 5.
