Linksys/Firewall/whoknowswhat problem

I recently set up a router (linksys wrt54g V.2) to find out it naturally has problems with p2p use. I looked around and followed the process of installing the hyperwrt firmware and script, nothing going. I checked all my firewall settings, utorrent and it's port allowed, nothing going. The only idea I have is that my ip given by the router is not the same as the one utorrent port checks. Does this matter? Can it be fixed? Any help with this situation would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
