thindery Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 I have gone through everything and I can see and add torrents when my iphone is connected through my wireless internet. However, if I try to get to it through 3g it says "Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding."I believe I did the porting correctly.. In the firewall protector of Windows I added an exception to not block the port. I did the name as utorrent iphone and port is the port that I have specified in utorrent, 44213.I have set a permanant ip address for my computer and that is what I am attempting to connect to. Anybody have any other suggestions for what I can check so I can access it through 3g?Thanks!
Ultima Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 What does the port checker say in µTorrent's Speed Guide (Ctrl+G)?
thindery Posted January 13, 2009 Author Report Posted January 13, 2009 It says:Welcome to the µTorrent Port Checker.A test will be performed on your computer to check if the specified port is opened.Checking port 6881 on 173.20.48.230...Error! Port 6881 does not appear to be open. Please see www.portforward.com for more information about how to map a port. Please make absolutely sure that PeerGuardian2 or Protowall is allowing utorrent.com (72.20.34.145) in either of those programs. Those of you using ipfilter.dat should make sure the list does not include the website's IP. After making sure of this, re-run this test by refreshing the page (F5).I guess i'm confused then. I opened the port I specified in uTorrent, so what is "port 6881 on 173.20.48.230?"Thanks for your help.
thindery Posted January 13, 2009 Author Report Posted January 13, 2009 modem is Motorola sb510drouter is belkin f5d9230-4
Ultima Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 The Motorola SurfBoard is known to cause port forwarding problems for users, and as far as I can tell, the only way to fix that completely is to... get rid of it and replace it.
