When firewall is turned off

Hi,

When your firewall is turned off is it possible that certain files (xxx torrents) and/or documents (such as x-rated pdf magazines) get involuntarily downloaded onto your computer, purely because your firewall is turned off? Can this happen when you are browsing torrent websites or is it possible that a hacker can do this?

If you have RSS feeds active, I guess it's remotely possible to get bogus .torrents ...but probably only if the feed sources are themselves being spammed with bad torrents.

Do you use RSS feeds?

I'm pretty sure no RSS feeds (to download torrents automatically?) have been used on the computer in question (not mine). How are the chances then that these files ended up there automatically, without a person intentionally doing it?

There were not only these pdf magazines, but also the torrent files that they were "downloaded" from, were in the recycle bin and other torrent files in the torrent folder.
