monkey8
Note: this is a very unscientific result.I'm a total newbie when it comes to system/file cache related subject. Ever since 1.1.5, I decided to test this function out. I didn't notice any performace gain in overall system wise, plus utorrent already uses so little resouces it's hard to notice any differences. So I let this function enabled until just 2 hours ago. I was downloading a torrent at around 72-80kB/s average (for three hours, so the speed is pretty steady). I disabled the FFC ("Flush File Cache") and waited a min. or two and started to notice speed jump to 120-130kB/s.So I'm asking, what's the advantages with FFC enabled?my spec for those who want to know:P3-800, 384Meg Ram WD 120Gig ATA1003Meg aDSL
User321
this option was introduced only to keep windows from using up all available RAM for "File Cache", as described in this topic: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?t=726 .. it should have no effect on down/upload speeds.
