BitTorrent Forum and Download Specification

Why oh why isn't it made clear on the Bittorrent Forum that the reason you can't post a new topic is that the forum is closed and now located at the uttorent website???? What a waste of time trying to figure out why I couldn't post a new message.

I am using Bit Torrent. My downloads Preferences are set to a specific directory that I chose, but the downloads are going into the Bit Torrent directory. I am wondering why they are not going to the right place?
