What is deadlock?

You could read about deadlocks http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deadlock. In many cases it is the cause why uTorrent hangs sometimes. In this version we are trying to resolve this problem. We've made some progress in fixing the issue, try this version now and you will help us!

Can someone please tell me how to post a question on this forum? vonbarth

If your question is about build 1.8.1, write your question here. Otherwise go to https://forum.utorrent.com/index.php then choose forum which your question maches and press "Post new topic" link on top of page.

Appreciate the answer but the staff of the private site I am currently using doesn't allow nothing than final version with no exceptions. Thanks for the development btw!

I have downloaded the new 1.8.1 version, however now I am unable to use Magnet links on my MacBook. Can you please let me know what settings I have to pick in Preferences for this to work?

Preferences>>BitTorrent>> PEX and DHT have to be enabled. You also need a good connection --Preferences>>Network>> automatically map port.

Depending on the peculiarities of your own network, you may need to look at the proxie settings and perhaps the internal settings of your router. Those are service and hardware specific.
