Newbie question about using proxy

Hi

I am using uTorrent with a proxy (BTGuard). As far as I can tell it is configured properly. However, I do not understand why some torrents, that I know are well seeded, refuse to work at all, and show zero seeds and peers, and some work very well as soon as they are added.

I also do not understand why some of the same torrents referred to above suddenly come alive after having being completely dead for 4 or 5 days.

Often, the torrents that suddenly begin to work are from the same tracker as torrents that are not working at all, and it would appear that both are well seeded. In other words, there is no reason that they shouldn't be working well.

Is there some feature of using a proxy that makes some torrents less viable than others?
