Computer Freeze/Crash when I run uTorrent

I used google and tried to search out a problem that was the same as mine but didnt have much luck, as a lot of the posts that were even remotely similar were made a long time ago.

Macbook pro core 2 duo 2.66

10.9 mavericks

uTorrent runs fine for approx 10 minutes, sometimes more sometimes less, and then i'll get the pinwheel. so when I try to force quit, i get the pinwheel everywhere else, and eventually the mouse pad stops responding, and im left with no other choice but to use the power button to turn it completely off and back on again.

if there is a process to getting a log of whats going on when it crashes, please direct me to that and i can post it
