  1. I was telling you people about this before .... and you told me .. do that do this .. when it's all default anyhow.. and should work.. Nothing helps in 3.1.3 .. same chit happening in all the builds.. In 3.0 / 3.01 was OK i think .. but torrent tracker doesn't allow 3.0 or 3.01 (for some bugs they claim) .. so reverted to 2.21 long time ago.. - all is good. Why not fix 3.1.3 / 3.2 properly .. to accommodate for the described problem.
  2. i see... hmmm ... then go to Google and google "something logical" in the Search Box there.. - some sites carry ALL build's of uTorrent.
  3. bullie What do you mean you cannot get older versions: at the page, suggested above ( or: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewforum.php?id=4 ) ... just look down the page there (at the threads' names) 2.2.1 for example is HERE: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=88772 2.0 for example is HERE: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=65482 etc.....
  4. DreadWingKnight - Ah! .. i see .. thanks! but on the list of whitelisted version at that tracker .. - also there are those 3 uTorrent 2.1.x uTorrent 2.2.x uTorrent 3.1.3 - currently have a problem (described earlier in the thread) using currently 2.2.1 (25302, the latest 2.2.1 i had or found) ... should be OK then, as far as those "security exploits" are concerned?
  5. How to get your users hacked in one easy step. That version list. Huh? I asked to get 3.1.3 fixed ..so it works properly Not how to hack something .. (including, possibly, if that is what you are implying above, - hacking some version so it shows as some other version etc) That's the last thing i need, LOL.. i ll simply use 2.21 if have to ... NOT that experienced to play around spoofing or hacking something.. with my luck, probably, it will get me banned... At same tracker it says: (where they have list of whitelisted clients) : Further Rules The modification of clients to bypass our client requirements (spoofing) is explicitly forbidden. People caught doing this will be instantly and permanently banned. This is your only warning. The use of clients or proxies which have been modified to report incorrect stats to the tracker (cheating) is not allowed, and will result in a permanent ban. Additionally, your information will be passed on to representatives of other trackers, where you are liable to be banned as well. The testing of unstable clients by developers is not allowed unless approved by a staff member. --------- I asked developers to get 3.1.3 fixed... and not for the lesson how to hack something etc .. LOL Please fix what i described on earlier pages of this thread. ------ I am a Lamer, really .. so please do not get me confused further Just PLEASE make it work (as it works in 3.01 and earlier)
  6. unfortunately same chit happened with this new 3.1.3 (27060) .. as i described on previous pages.... Was downloading something.. and halfway it stopped.. . Installed 2.2.1 (as one of the torrents i am in don't accept currently nothing from 3 series but 3.1.3 ) and no problem .. currently downloading what i have chosen to download in a large torrent (not everything in it, but what's desired) with 3.0.1 would bet also would be able to download no problem (as described on previous pages) but NOT with this 3.1.3 series.. To me it IS some type of a bug! Cuz in 3.01, 2.2.1 etc.. all settings are the same as i have in 3.1.3 .. and it works... BUT in 3.1.3 - it doesn't.. So why should i experiment to change some settings in 3.1.3 if same settings work no problem in earlier versions. How about fixing it ... really would like to use new version .. but cuz of this matter - i can't nor can't use 3.01 that is not accepted at that torrent.. - so have to use older 2.2.1 To me .. cuz of this happening .. this 3.1.3 is far from "stable" ... Thanks! p.s. at that tracker only those uTorrent versions are whitelisted currently: uTorrent 1.6.1 uTorrent 1.7.6 uTorrent 1.7.7 uTorrent 1.8.x uTorrent 2.0.x uTorrent 2.1.x uTorrent 2.2.x uTorrent 3.1.3 3.0 and 3.01 use to be also whitelisted ... but many complained about 3.0 and they blacklisted 3.0 .. and then blacklisted 3.01 also unfortunately (even though i had no issues with it) HELP!
  7. Just installed 27060 ... See how this one will do
  8. Options / Preferences / Advanced / diskio.use_partfile - true (i set it to false earlier ... so set it back to true then? .. - DONE ..now it's true again) Options / Preferences / General / pre-allocate all files - now i have there as "unchecked" (default i guess) .. SHOULD i set it to Checked ??... and my problem will be solved ..or? Anything else? I still don't understand .. as i am not too smart .. - in earlier versions 3.01 and earlier .. i didn't have any problems (with what i described) .. and didn't touch any of those settings .. so they are default in them i guess.. But in 3.1.3 - problem .. so the Bug then? Then developers SHOULD fix I am confused... All i know .. - i have enough HD space for those that i selected.. but NOT for the entire torrent (that i didn't select the whole thing, and only selected those that needed, and should be OK .. cuz enough space for them) and in 3.01 and earlier everything was / is cool as far as this matter is concerned.. but in this 3.1.3 .. suddenly it's "no cool" as far as this particular matter / need is concerned.
  9. actually.. LOL .. you better tell me, please, WHERE and WHAT exactly you want me to change.. cuz i am getting confused... So far i only did - Options / Preferences / Advanced / diskio.use_partfile - true .. i set it to false and if it's wrong.. i can always set it back to true - so you better tell me.. Better tell me in steps what to change.. LOL .. example: Go to "this and that" .. change "true" to "false" .. etc etc I have VISTA by the way -------- also .. maybe this is my prob in 3.1.3? : In the torrent job status, I get "Error: The requested operation could not be completed due to a file system limitation" and µTorrent halts the torrent job This error occurs because of a problem with the way Windows Vista handles sparse files and NTFS compressed. When a sparse or compressed file reaches this (currently unspecified) limitation, all writes to the file will fail. The only way around this is to make a copy of the file, delete the existing (sparse/compressed) file, and replace the deleted file with the copy. It is recommended that you disable diskio.sparse_files if you are running Windows Vista. If you would like µTorrent to not fully allocate a file upon write while using Windows Vista, use bt.compact_allocation instead. but why in earlier versions (3.01 and less) .. i didn't have such hassles, lol)?
  10. rafi oh! I see.. i should try it .. where do i look for it .. somewhere in options? (if i want to try and change something) But in 3.01 and earlier - no problem .. - so in that case it's by default there ... to accommodate for those Partfile settings.. in 3.1.3 - if what suggested will fix the problem, i guess is not by default then I ll look into it .. let me see in Options...... Options / Preferences / Advanced / diskio.use_partfile - true .. i set it to false Done......... Is that it? If so .. - why in 3.01 and earlier, if i am not mistaken, it was false by default? Didn't do "allocate files, that have shared pieces, and you do not want to download" -- Should i, you think .. or what i did above should be enough? If need to do.. gotto find where is it first
  11. There is NO fix yet! ... not to my best knowledge anyhow... but i am hoping one day it COULD BE (if what i described is OK in 3.01 versions and earlier .. then i don't see why developers can't accommodate for that in 3.1.3 and future versions.... About running two uTorrent versions... - thanks .. i might try it .. - two uTorrent versions installed in 2 different directories.
  12. To developers..... Can someone do something in 3.1.3 what i will describe below, please : In earlier versions of uTorrent ... (i think even in 3.01 series as well, that i was using before this 3.1.3) - i didn't have the problem that i am encountering now in 3.1.3. The problem in 3.1.3 i had now several times already IS: If i am choosing to download large torrent (say for example 10 or 20 gb total size) ... but i don't won't the entire thing (say torrent has some discography etc, but i only want to d/l 1 or 2 albums from it) .. - if my available Hard Drive space is limited (say i only have about 5 gb free left on my HD) ... - 3.1.3, most of the time, will NOT let me finish the download. Say the 2 albums that i want to download - total size of them is 500 or 600 mb, which should be NO PROBLEM (cuz my HD available space is 5 gb) .. so with 3.1.3, it will start to d/l .. and then, say halfway or so the speed will drop totally and status of torrent will say something like for example "Flashing etc etc (300)" .. and NO go With earlier versions of uTorrent .. even up to 3.01 as mentioned .. NO such problem exists! There .. if my hard drive only has 5 gb left .. and torrent is 20 gb in size total, but i am choosing to d/l only 500 or 600 mb from it.. - NO PROBLEM whatsoever .. uTorrent WILL download the 2 desired albums .. no defects or anything.. and will show 100% done. So currently it's a pain! .. if i am running 3.1.3 and want to download something like described above.. - i would have to downgrade, say, to 2.2.1 or 3.01 etc (anything but 3.1 series) .. and NO PROBLEM.. - get what i want.. and then if want to be running new 3.1.3 .. would have to install it again, just to encounter the same problem in the future. Can something be done, please, in 3.1.3 (and in future versions for that matter) to accommodate for the current problem in 3.1.3 that i described above. Thanks a lot!
  13. using 3.1.3 (27022) now ... seems to be working
  14. is uTorrent 3.1.3 (27022) OK however?
  15. oh! ... i got it .. sorry but, at the same time, how could it be found there .. but not here? Hopefully i didn't install some fake...
