Suzy
Hi. Sorry if this is not the right space for this question.I'm new at using this program - Utorrent and i don't understand how is it possible that one file has so many seeds and peers and the downloading speed be so low, while other files has less seeds and peers and the speed is 10 times higher. Can anybody explain this
Ultima
Because it's not about the number of peers, it's about the peers' upload speeds. For example, the torrent with more peers might be all peers with dialup, while the one with fewer peers might all be people with 100mbit lines. In any case, there can be other factors, like if their upload slots are filled, or if their client just isn't fair, or maybe the torrent is poisoned/fake. Nefarious
indeed, in fact i always try to get torrents with no more than 200peers since the torrent speed will be divided in less people, a swarm with 1000+ peers only does good when it is a new torrent... shoover
Just remember, to download you must also upload. Your going to slow down at first but youll get the hang of it.
Switeck
Also, download speed MAY taper off to a rather low value as you near completion of a torrent if there are few seeds and/or few peers with more than 50% of the torrent.
