uTorrent, VPN and Browser

Hi,

I am pretty new to uTorrents and VPNs etc, so could someone please explain the following:

I have two browsers: Firefox (general use) and Opera (banking, etc making use of the VPN on their browser). I have heard that it is a good recommendation that if using uTorrent you should also use it with a VPN ... so here are the questions:

(1) Is it possible to use uTorrent with Opera?

(2) How do you know that you are "safe" ... since uTorrent opens up as a seperate program that is not "embedded" in the browser .... does that make sense?

Unless opera offers a way to use external programs through their provided vpn, uTorrent CANNOT use it.
