Derevex
Recently, I found out about the restriction cap Optimum Online puts into effect after awhile, so I called them up and they took off the restriction. Then, I stumbled on this... http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=194017#p194017I was just wondering if that would really solve the problem? I'm a little afraid to get capped again, since I'm phoneaphobic.Thank you for any, if any, replies.
silverfire
They shouldn't be able to positively identify the traffic as being BitTorrent, so theoretically, yes it should solve the problem. This doesn't in any way, shape, or form constitute a guarantee that it will work now or in the future.
Derevex
Ah... a represensative earlier told me it's the size that causes the cap, so... maybe even if they don't find out what program it is, they'll still cap it?
silverfire
From the bad ISP list, it says Optimum Online only kills seeding. I don't know if they've changed their policies, but that's what I'm working off of.
Derevex
Hm, I see. Thanks for the answer.Merged double post(s):To test it, I was downloading quite a bit of stuff last night, and if I remember right, uploaded about... 110MB, total. Woke up today, and internet was going much slower. Ran a speakeasy speed test, and download speeds were in the 4,000kps range, while upload was at 60-80. Most likely got capped again.EDIT by silverfire: The edit function exists for a reason. Please do not double post.
