LayneStaley Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 why does it not really matter or seem to when i have 10mb bb and still get stuff slow?Is it the speed at which people give u that counts?
LayneStaley Posted July 27, 2006 Author Report Posted July 27, 2006 By the way i use Bitlord and have a cable modem.Call me numb but....
Ultima Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 I don't think you can answer "yes" to both questions O.oBitTorrent does not make any guarantees to speed, so it won't always max your connection out -- in fact, it's less likely that it does than not. It's not necessarily the speed at which you give other people, it just gives you a higher chance of getting an upload slot from someone, but that's not guaranteed either.
Switeck Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 If you're using BitLord, it may be because LOTS of people are using protocol encryption now which BitLord doesn't support. In short, you cannot connect with lots of them even if you're not firewalled!Chances are, your ISP also throttles/partially blocks BitTorrent traffic -- and that too contributes to very poor results you're seeing.
Ultima Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 I had assumed he meant he was switching between BitLord (EWW) and µTorrent... if that's not the case, then this forum isn't even the place to be looking for help on speed problems for BitLord.
