Vlad Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Hello everybody,it's my first time posting, so if I somehow manage to break any rules I hubly apologise. Now, on to my issue: I am in the middle of a large and crucial download over my very tired 'usually-almost-384K' connexion using uTorrent 1.6. However, I find that I need to do a reinstall of Windows (as in formatting the system partition and starting all from scratch). What files do I need to keep in order to resume the download where I left off? I am assuming the .ut! and .torrent. Anything else? Thanks in advance.PS: congratulations to the admins on choosing PunBB for the forum.
Ultima Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Everything in %appdata%\uTorrent, and all files you're downloading. And retain locations unless you feel like reloading the torrents and/or telling µTorrent where each of the torrent job's files are located on the freshly formatted partition.
Vlad Posted September 14, 2006 Author Report Posted September 14, 2006 Thanks a lot. Now I'll be on my way reinstalling Windows
Invy Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 If you don't use the same username as when before you reformat, then you are going to have problems loading the torrent files.
platypuss Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 hi there,i ahve had a windows crash and had to reinstall :-( without backing up the %appa% but i have all my downloads on a different hard disk ...how can i restart the torrents ????please can you help ?????cheers luke
YuRi Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 Just download the .torrents again. When you load them in µtorrent just point them to the partialy downloaded files.
