Raffles
Hello,It often happens that I'm downloading something and it turns out that the availability is 0.979 or even 0.998 or something thereabouts, and so therefore only 97.9% or 99.8% of the file gets downloaded. How can this be? It always seems to be almost 100% and this makes it all the more annoying. Does this happen to anyone else? Is there a reason for it? Cheers,Rafael

Raffles
I don't have a DLink router though. And this happens when I use utorrent at work (no port forwarding) or at home (Thomson router with port forwarding). It's not for all torrents either, only for a few. Ultima
Then the torrents are fake, poisoned, near dead, or the people with the remaining pieces have corrupted data, or their hardware is corrupting the pieces. Also known as "out of your control."
osm0sis
pretty much all 97.9 i've found that still have seeders are the poisoned/fake ones.
Nefarious
on the other hand most of the ~98% i've found just needed some time so someone with the missing pieces appeared
Raffles
Oh well, I'm glad other people have noticed. The thing is, I'm talking about downloads with 3000+ seeders so I find it truly odd that the availability is so low. And even after several days it stays stuck on ~98%. Ultima
The fact that there are there many seeders only makes it all-the-more likely that it's a poisoned torrent, or your hardware is destroying the final pieces.
Switeck
...or both. Don't rule out the other possibility because one is true!Just like many people can't get a green light because they're firewalled in multiple ways. They fix one thing, it doesn't work still...so they remove those changes and try something else.
