nyckz0r Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 So yeah, the deal is this. Just got Comcast, hooked up my modem and whatever, no router (yet) and the Upload speed caps around 44k/s, give or take a few k/s. I did the speed test, set it to 100mbps, also opened enough ports to handle high bandwidth, cant upload more than this. I can download up to 500k/s though, so Im not sure what the problem is, I know close to nothing about networking and could use some help. Thanks in advance.
Switeck Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 I have Comcast cable ISP as well, 42 KB/sec upload speed is all I can sustain and VERY close to the limits Comcast puts on my line. You've got a 384kilobit/sec upload bandwidth as well, which at best shouldn't get more than 40-45 KILOBYTES/sec upload speed.Almost all broadband connections can download immensely faster than they can upload. If you're ever downloading faster than you are uploading, likely more than 1 other person has the reverse condition!
nyckz0r Posted October 26, 2006 Author Report Posted October 26, 2006 So its Comcast and not that fact that I have SP2 or PeerGuardian running?I guess this means I cant do anything about it, can I?
Switeck Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 Yes, many if not most people cannot upload as fast as you!...That's something to think about if you ever get 100+ KB/sec download speed on a torrent.
