i got a lot of peer errror in the Logger. is there something wrong with this error? is it the ISP, router doing? some peers can connect fine though. but it can take awhile before i can get connected peers after starting.

that should be it!! i am running with a file utorrent-1.6.1-beta-build-483.exe.lang.txt for testing thai translation. those weird errors must be in thai!! since it's not readable, this should be a bug! thank you Switeck. after switching to english, those errors seem to be:

Ah, that (had me confounded yesterday when I looked at this thread)... Indeed, someone (I think it was emc?) pointed out that the logger tab doesn't support Unicode characters before and filed it as a bug report.

I'm convinced you're having that problem with so many peers it's likely a major problem on your computer.

Have you patched Win XP SP2's half-open connection limit higher than 10?

What settings are you using in µTorrent as shown by Speed Guide (CTRL+G)?

Also, what advanced settings have you changed?

What's your connection's rated+tested download AND upload speed?

since last weekend, utorrent's been taking longer than before to update a tracker and get connected peers after starting a torrent. sometimes updating a tracker would get timed out, even though i can get an instant reply if i put the tracker URL in a browser.

i am using xp sp2 with all updates installed and haven't patched the tcpip.sys. current setting is close to what's suggested by speed guide for xx/512 kbps:

- upload limit 45 kB/s (47 suggested)

- upload slots 4 (same as suggested)

- connections (per torrent) 70 (90 suggested)

- connections (global) 250 (same as suggested)

the only thing i've changed in advanced setting is enabling the internal tracker. my home connection is 1024/512 kbps with these test results:

- Test speed to Miami, FL, USA: down 229 up 342

- Test speed to Los Angeles, CA, USA: down 744 up 436

- Test speed to Palo Alto, CA, USA: down 560 up 264

i also have cFosSpeed installed but it's currently disabled. my ISP do trottle bittorrent, so can this be their doing? i already have outgoing encryption forced and legacy incomings disabled. and i just rebooted both the adsl router and my computer. and this is what's in the Logger aftering starting 1 seeding task (too many timed out):

You seem to be somewhere in the Pacific Rim...otherwise why such horrible results for test speeds?

Are you sure there's NOTHING else using your connection while running those tests?

Can you check your router logs for incoming/outgoing ip connections? (If it's making lots per minute when "nothing" is supposedly going on...it's time to rethink antivirus/antispyware strategy.)

Your mass disconnects are often occuring in the same second for connections that were not attempted at the same moment/second. This screams overload at the time of disconnects. Try lowering µTorrent's half open connection max to 4, 5, or 6.

Are you actually sustaining the upload speed you told µTorrent to use?
