RedPenguin
Are there any Atlantic Broadband users here, who have found the best way to 100% or close bypass the throttling? I have set encrpytion to enabled but have allow unencrypted incoming connections. I have the 3mbit/320kbit connection. I also tried forced and unchecking allowing unencrypted connections. Has anyone with Atlantic Broadband, found a way to configure BitTorrent and/or routers that will max out your connection speed?
Switeck
Have you found a settings combo that at least allows you to download at >100 KB/sec and upload at >30 KB/sec?
RedPenguin
Yes, and it looks like maybe I just have slow torrents, because when I added an openoffice.org torrent, I was getting like 320-340kb/s, so I guess it's normal then. Switeck
Something to watch out for is your upload-side settings -- too high and you choke your download speeds. Too low and others won't upload as much to you! Speed Guide (CtrL+G) settings come close to best values -- but it really depends on whether you're on poorly-seeded torrents or overseeded torrents as to which values are best. Even private versis public torrents has a small effect.
