crazy wahesh
HelloI was reading on another forum that someone changed the settings in Azureus so that it was forced to use a packet size of 1400. I looked in utorrent for a similar setting but can't find one. Does utorrent have such a setting? Thanks.
Switeck
I think µTorrent tries to use the MTU max for torrent piece packets. Why would you want it to use less? You can already set the MTU max for Windows using TCPOptimizer and similar programs.
crazy wahesh
Yeah I found out about that program after I posted. I used it to try and help utorrent. Didn't do much good but it helped a little. But I'm not too concerned as I just found another isp in my area that does not do traffic shaping. I'm going to try them out and if they're good I will abandon Rogers. Jerks! I encourage other people who have ROgers to do the same.
BHG
Switeck wrote : "Why would you want it to use less?"Well, for those who's internet connection uses PPPOE, a 1500 setting actually causes excessive choking. 1492 usually gives the best results for those with PPPOE connections. My system registry has a MTU setting of 1492, however, I dont know if uTorren actually uses it, or, forces the 1500 default. Switeck
µTorrent will use MTU rather than try to force 1500 bytes max packet size.
