Adding torrents remotely without downloading .torrent file?

Recommended Posts

I am using WebUI at my home computer, and i want the ability to add torrent files from my school, the only problem is that my school blocked the download of .torrent files.

So, i was thinking of using add by URL, but there is a problem.

I have the direct URL to the torrent, for example: http://www.site.com/download.php/3375/torrentname.torrent

But, when i use this direct URL it adds the torrent, but it doesnt start downloading, i think i need the cookies or something to identify that it is my user account on the site that is being downloaded from...

How do i get the cookies i need, and which ones do i need to enter in uTorrent? :P

Thanks for the help, in advance :P

I dunno if some trackers still use IP verification instead of passkey but if that is the case here you could try this:

http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=210797#p210797 (the right uid/password can be found in your cookies. See the link Ultima posted above.)

If that doesn't work this should do the trick (might even be easier then having to add your cookie info every time you add a torrent):

http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=208208#p208208 (This file should be made and run at the computer that is running µtorrent)
