Connection problems (yellow - no connections)

I Use Norton Internet security 2006. I have made a rule for outbound and inbound connections for both UDP and TCP. I still get the yellow and not the green.If I use the "speedguide" to test if port is forwarded properly I get the following results:

Checking port 43993 on 193.217.243.9...

Error! Port 43993 does not appear to be open.

This happens on every port I check. I am a newbie when it comes to this, and would really appreciate som good advice (teaspoon level). ;-)

add your ports in your router if your using 43993 as your port put it in your router port forwarding options, ya get me

I have tried that. Still the yellow light. Still slow downloads. I understand I'm doing something wrong, but can't figure otu what.

Have you tried UNINSTALLING Norton Internet security 2006 to remove it as a possible cause of your problems?

(If/when you do, you'll need to enable and configure Windows XP's Firewall in advance if you don't have a router.)

Even an antivirus/antispyware program may have a light firewall in it that needs to be configured or disabled.
