Ultima Posted June 3, 2007 Report Posted June 3, 2007 O.oStart > Run > devmgmt.mscCheck *all* of your IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers' Advanced Settings tab in their properties to see if any of them have their current transfer mode not being some form of DMA (ignore Not Applicable).
pOlarbearz Posted June 3, 2007 Author Report Posted June 3, 2007 Do you mean all of the "Transfer Mode" must be 'DMA if available'?I inculded a screenshoot as below :-http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/1879/untitledxi6.jpgSo I have to change the [2] 'PIO Only' into 'DMA if available' ?Thanks in advance
Ultima Posted June 3, 2007 Report Posted June 3, 2007 Indeed, dialog 2 is *bad*. Switch it to DMA if available and try restarting your computer. If it automatically switches back to PIO mode, try uninstalling the controller and restarting your computer -- Windows should reinstall it after a restart (or maybe two even).
pOlarbearz Posted June 3, 2007 Author Report Posted June 3, 2007 I did like what you said and changed it to "DMA if available". After restarting, the [Transfer Mode] is "DMA if available" but [Current Transfer Mode] is "PIO"Then I did the second option you gave me; uninstalling the controller and restart my PC. It did re-install back itself after a restart but I found out that it is for my DVD-Writer; not my Harddisk. I decided to give it a shoot and tried to reCheck my download and still it still freezes around 46% of rechecking. Here's a screenshoot at 19% of ReCheckinghttp://img517.imageshack.us/img517/2064/untitled2nh0.jpgI have no problem with rechecking when I was using BitComet (That was like last year in late '06) and my friends that using uTorrent have no problem with rechecking as well. I just don't get it why it'll happen to me. My PC is not really old btw, I got it in late August '06.Thanks in advance

Ultima Posted June 3, 2007 Report Posted June 3, 2007 Can you temporarily uninstall Trend Micro and test µTorrent again to be sure it's not conflicting?
pOlarbearz Posted June 3, 2007 Author Report Posted June 3, 2007 I don't think it's caused by trend micro. Few weeks ago that I was using McAfee (Since last few years) and this problem happens as well.Regards.
Switeck Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 My guess as to possible troublemakers are these:schedul2.exe 220 Acronis Scheduler 2 Acroniswinamp.exe 2100 Winamp NullsoftCan you test without them?
