cdzo72
ok, here's everything that I've done so far.1. I have forwarded and triggered ports on my router2. I have setup a static IP address in my laptop.3. I have allowed ports and uTorrent in my firewall. (think i did this correctly, haven't been able to find info on a working setup for the Windows Live One Care)4. I have a yellow light at the bottom of my uTorrent window, says I have a network configuration problem and am not receiving incoming connections,5. When I run the check from uTorrent is says "Checking port 10586 on 190.10.33.136Error: Port 10586 does not appear to be open.6. Settings in uTorrent are upload limit 22 kB/s, Connections 70, Max Active Torrents 2, Upload slots 3, Connections 130, Max Active downloads 17. Running Windows XP SP28. Firewall and antivirus in WIndows Live One Care9. Cable modem: Linksys BEFCMU10, ver 4.0, Router: Linksys WRT54G ver. 5.0 10. ISP is amnet.co.cr in Costa Rica11. I have a 2 mb/s connection, my tested download speed was 1812 mb/s and upload was 237 mb/sOk, somebody please help me. I think that I have done all I can do and I can't get a green light in Utorrent and can't seem to get more than about 25 to 30 kB/s download speed. My upload speed is fine, maxes out where I allow it up to 26 kB/s. Thanks in advance
Ultima
Try connecting your computer directly to the modem -- is the port still unforwarded?
cdzo72
i had already tried that ultima, could not get a green light. when i connect the modem directly to my laptop, am i supposed to have to change my static ip settings? i had to change the ip address and the default gateway to be able to connect again but still no green light in uTorrent. bummer! another question, my WRT54G router is set up as a gateway by default, is this correct or am i supposed to try to configure it as a router? i am downloading the slackware file and my connection almost maxes out, sometimes bumps up to almost 240 kB/s, yet the yellow light remains in uTorrent even at that speed. Ultima
While the computer is connected directly to the modem...Start > Run > cmd /k ipconfig /allWhat is your LAN connection's gateway IP address?
cdzo72
ok, to get a connection once i hook the modem directly to the computer, first i have to go into my TCP/IP settings and choose automatic configuration, once i do this, restart the modem and the computer, what i get is:IP address: 190.10.x.xSubnet mask: 255.255.255.0Default gateway: 190.10.x.xDHCP Server: 192.168.10.135I don't have to fool with my DNS server settings
Ultima
Looks like your firewall is being stupid. Try uninstalling it temporarily to see if the port remains unforwarded while the modem is still connected directly.
cdzo72
no such luck, uninstalled anything that may have been interfering with a connection, modem directly connected to the computer and through the linksys router and still no green light
Ultima
O.oGet Process Explorer from sysinternals.com, run it, File > Save, then post the contents of the saved process list in the .txt file here.
cdzo72
ok, i hope i did this right, copy and paste the text file that I saved from process explorer. this is how it comes out with no kind of firewall running or antivirus. i am connected directly to the modem, but my TCP/IP settings are set to automatic, otherwise I can't seem to get a connection. DNS server settings are fixed though. Thank you for all the help so far, hope this helps out.Process PID CPU Description Company NameSystem Idle Process 0 96.92 Interrupts n/a Hardware Interrupts DPCs n/a Deferred Procedure Calls System 4 smss.exe 488 Windows NT Session Manager Microsoft Corporation csrss.exe 544 Client Server Runtime Process Microsoft Corporation winlogon.exe 568 Windows NT Logon Application Microsoft Corporation services.exe 612 1.54 Services and Controller app Microsoft Corporation svchost.exe 772 Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Microsoft Corporation wmiprvse.exe 1984 WMI Microsoft Corporation svchost.exe 868 Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Microsoft Corporation svchost.exe 1052 Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Microsoft Corporation svchost.exe 1096 Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Microsoft Corporation spoolsv.exe 1284 Spooler SubSystem App Microsoft Corporation mdm.exe 1400 Machine Debug Manager Microsoft Corporation HPZipm12.exe 1452 PML Driver HP svchost.exe 1496 Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Microsoft Corporation msfwsvc.exe 1608 OneCare Firewall service Microsoft Corporation hpqwmiex.exe 1740 hpqwmiex Module Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P. svchost.exe 2248 Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Microsoft Corporation lsass.exe 624 LSA Shell (Export Version) Microsoft Corporationexplorer.exe 1048 Windows Explorer Microsoft Corporation StartupMonitor.exe 1044 SynTPEnh.exe 1896 Synaptics TouchPad Enhancements Synaptics, Inc. ctfmon.exe 1688 CTF Loader Microsoft Corporation uTorrent.exe 3188 taskmgr.exe 3284 Windows TaskManager Microsoft Corporation procexp.exe 2192 1.54 Sysinternals Process Explorer Sysinternals iexplore.exe 168 Internet Explorer Microsoft Corporation

cdzo72
sorry, had to run the one care cleanup utility from microsoft to get rid of it completely, here are the barebones running processes again, one more question just for the sake of asking: i have modified various service settings, so not sure if there is a process that should or shouldn't be running to get my network to communicate properly.Process PID CPU Description Company NameSystem Idle Process 0 93.85 Interrupts n/a Hardware Interrupts DPCs n/a 1.54 Deferred Procedure Calls System 4 smss.exe 432 Windows NT Session Manager Microsoft Corporation csrss.exe 532 Client Server Runtime Process Microsoft Corporation winlogon.exe 556 Windows NT Logon Application Microsoft Corporation services.exe 600 3.08 Services and Controller app Microsoft Corporation svchost.exe 784 Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Microsoft Corporation svchost.exe 868 Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Microsoft Corporation svchost.exe 1064 Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Microsoft Corporation svchost.exe 1108 Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Microsoft Corporation mdm.exe 1392 Machine Debug Manager Microsoft Corporation svchost.exe 1448 Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Microsoft Corporation svchost.exe 924 Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Microsoft Corporation lsass.exe 612 LSA Shell (Export Version) Microsoft Corporationexplorer.exe 124 Windows Explorer Microsoft Corporation procexp.exe 2096 Sysinternals Process Explorer Sysinternals procexp.exe 4072 1.54 Sysinternals Process Explorer Sysinternals uTorrent.exe 2908 once again, i hope this helps solve the problem
Ultima
Services shouldn't be a problem, as I heavily tweak my service settings myself without problems...Hm. I don't see any obvious reason why you'd be unable to get a green light in the status bar :/
Switeck
You may be port forwarded properly.Your ISP may be one of many that firewalls ALL incoming ports by default.
cdzo72
well, that would really suck, seeing as there are no more options here in costa rica for cable access, may try to go to dsl and see what happens, thanks for the effort guys and if i get the green light i'll make sure to post
Switeck
Call up your ISP and say you need to be given full internet access to play a game. You can't host a multiplayer game if you're firewalled either!
