DSL Modem Looses Internet Connection When uTorrent is Active

Hello,

Here is my situation: Whenever I start downloading with utorrent, my dsl modem looses internet connection link. Upon power down and restart of modem, the internet is back. This problem is also now happening with limewire too.

My specs are:

-Windows vista ultimate

-onboard realtek lan

-Netgear wgt634u router

-Westell 6100 dsl modem

-verizon dsl in central FL area

The dsl modem is set to port forward to router and then router is set to forward to computer. The dsl modem's dchp is 192.168.0.* and the routers is 192.168.1.*.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Does that modem contain a firewall or mini-router that needs to be configured or disabled?

Yep, there was a firewall on the modem set to low. Disabling it fixed the problem. Thanks!
