Ultima
You shouldn't be setting anything µTorrent needs to use to read-only unless it's for seeding. Get Process Explorer from sysinternals.com, run it, File > Save, then post the contents of the saved process list in the .txt file here.

Ultima
1) Make sure you have the indexing service disabled in Start > Run > services.msc2) Again, you shouldn't be attempting to set anything to read-only if µTorrent is using it, unless it's the data being seeded
NebulahFrost
yes, indexing service is disabled and the download folder is not read-only!
Ultima
Meh, the only reason I keep repeating that is because ofi noticed, when i try to change the read-only and indexing tab at the folder properties for the download folder, i get an acces denied error from windows. At any rate, grab Unlocker and install it. The next time you see the error, quickly go to the problem file/folder, right click, and use Unlocker to see what applications are using it. NebulahFrost
unlocker doesn't help. it shows nothing.and i can't rename any of the folders and files that are in my download folder. maybe it has something to do with my hd. it makes funny noises sometimes but the other files on the partition are fine and scandisk doesn't show any errors... Ultima
I'm all spent on ideas. I can't see any obvious reason why anything would be spitting access denied errors bak at the user.
