raven369 Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 Hello, I have been having problems with low upload speeds. At max I can only go up to about 10 kb/s. My ports have been forwarded correctly so I do not believe that's the issue. I'm using a Linksys WRT54GX4 router and my speed results are:I'm not sure whether or not it's because I have inputted the wrong settings for my speed connection. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Switeck Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 Based on those speed test numbers, you'd use xx/640k...BUT because you're on ROGERS Cable ISP, you're probably stuck using xx/128k or xx/192k. By using the lower settings, you may get more bytes of a torrent down or up because you're not spending so much of the cap on 'overheads' such as trying to maintain 50+ connections at once. They throttle "unwanted" uploading VERY hard...which includes BitTorrent, file-sharing, online games, VoIP, and even encrypted proxy (VPN-type) connections.
raven369 Posted August 21, 2007 Author Report Posted August 21, 2007 Bummer....Thanks for the help. I'll try Secureix to see if it will hopefully resolve the issue.
