BigStu78
I've been having major problems with down load speeds since I have moved from a really old version of bit torrent to utorrent. I have tried port forwarding, Upnp, manually opening ports and still cannot achieve a download speed over 20kb/s even though I have 8Mb broadband. I recently discovered that my ISP throttles P2P clients, I have Pipex. I also found out that my router, Net gear DG834G v2, has problems with utorrent. Any tips on how to speed my downloads up? Switeck
Search the internet for workaround tips for that ISP.My specific advice is determine how much BitTorrent speed your ISP is giving you, and change µTorrent's settings to be more in line with that for the short run. No sense allowing 100+ connections at once for instance if your max download speed is always less than 20 KiloBYTES/sec. This means more bandwidth gets spent sending you the torrents rather than wasted as connection overheads.
