scottsee
I'm not sure what else to do, I've been through the FAQ, Speed tests, Analyzer's, How-to's, Search button & Google. When I start Utorrent my speed Jumps to the max connection speed then slows down to 200-250kb after 45 seconds or so. Because I'm on a shared bandwith with Comcast late at night I can get initally get 780kB before dropping to 250ish-kB/sec. I downloaded Open Office 3 times back to back at 600-700kBps to test the connection. I need help figureing this out. I feel like I'm leaving out somthing about my settings, so if you see somthing I'm not listing let me know.. EDIT: I am currently downloading 47 torrents at the momentEDIT : My wireless network connection dies alot, It dosen't pop up and say "Network connection lost". Unless I restart the wirless connection there is no internet connectivity.. Not sure if these two issues are connected, I've followed the steps in fixing this problem with decent results, but it still happens every so often, but not like it use to..Netgear Wireless Router WGR614 v6 with updated firmwareIntel® PRO/Wireless 2200B Network ConnectionDell XPS M140 Laptop1.8ghz 512meg Windows XP Service pack 2 TCPIP.sys PatchTCPOptimiser 3500« SpeedGuide.net TCP Analyzer Results »Tested on: 09.17.2007 00:24 IP address: 67.185.xxx.xxx TCP options string: 020405b40103030201010402 MSS: 1460 MTU: 1500 TCP Window: 256960 (multiple of MSS) RWIN Scaling: 2 Unscaled RWIN : 64240 Reccomended RWINs: 64240, 128480, 256960, 513920 BDP limit (200ms): 10278kbps (1285KBytes/s)BDP limit (500ms): 4111kbps (514KBytes/s) MTU Discovery: ON TTL: 45 Timestamps: OFF SACKs: ON IP ToS: 00100000 (32) Precedence: 001 (priority) Delay: 0 (normal delay) Throughput: 0 (normal throughput) Reliability: 0 (normal reliability) Cost: 0 (normal cost) Check bit: 0 (correct)DiffServ: CS1 001000 (8) - class 1 (RFC 2474). Switeck
Further tweaks might be possible....But I don't know if your connection is xx/384k or xx/768k variety. What upload speed can it SUSTAIN for more than 5 minutes straight? scottsee
Thats a good Question. Should I play with the MAX Upload setting until It maxes out? Right now its set at 60kB and I belive that is what it is transfering at. I'm at the office right now, I'll check it out when I get home this evening. I would sure love to sustain the 700kB transfer rates I receive for 45sec-1min when I initially open Utorrent!!Edit: Got home from work8 hours connected while I was at work with an average upload speed of 33k. That dosen't make sence to me with the connection spped and settings i have.. I restarted Utorrent and watched the inital Upload speed where it peaked at 230k before droping to around 50k, then to 40k.... I'm confused whats going on here... Any Ideas? Switeck
SpeedBoost at work, providing about 1 minute of faster upload speeds:"I restarted Utorrent and watched the inital Upload speed where it peaked at 230k before droping to around 50k, then to 40k...."The final upload speed of around 40 KiloBYTES/sec is probably pretty close to the real, sustainable upload speed...which means the xx/384k setting in Speed Guide is the closest match.
