azazel00 Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 A couple of days ago, I had to run MS's utility to restore system protected files. Like when you replace notepad and it prompts you to insert the CD to place a MS valited version of the files.Anyway, ever since then I lost some of my file associations, including the one for torrent files. Now when I try to associate them, either with the options panel in uTorrent or with the Windows "Open with" window. It wont do it. But if I try to do it with Azureus it works. I know it's not uTorrent's fault. For some reason my computer seems to not want "non-installed applications" to open the files.Any workaround?
Animorc Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 Try the button name "Associate with .torrent files" in µTorrent. It's located in Options -> Preferences -> General Options.Edit: If it doesn't work, go to Start -> Control Panel -> Folder Options -> File Types. Scroll down to TORRENT and remove that entry. Start µTorrent and click this "Associate with .torrent files" button again.
