Bassep
Anyone have a similar problem where they have preallocate space disabled but it still preallocates it, and on clients like utorrent or azureus it happens? I have preallocate space disabled on utorrent and it still preallocates space, this is the same for azureus. But utorrent works normally when i resume a torrent that has some percentage of it done.Anyone able to help me? Firon
Pre-allocate only means that it pre-allocates all the files when the torrent starts. Otherwise, it only allocates the file whenever it has to write data to the file. The default is to allocate the full file to prevent fragmentation. I would recommend to use compact allocation, but it's broken at the moment, so just use sparse files (2k/XP/2003 only, NTFS partitions only). Be warned that this increases fragmentation. Bassep
Thanks, changed the setting for sparse and compact within utorrent, and it works fine now.
Firon
Compact should be false, sparse should be on.
