revision
Okay this is my first post and I apologize if this is a dumb question. Is there any way to stop utorrent from reserving the full amount of a file when it begins downloading it? What I mean is.. lets say I download a 4gb file, utorrent will take up the entire 4gb's before I even have 10% downloaded. Is this the way it was built or is there some option im just not finding? Because the problem that I am having is that I'll get to 50% on a 6gb file and then people will stop seeding, so even though I've only downloaded 3.0 gb's the full 6 will be taking up space that I need. Sorry if this sounded confusing, I have a hard time explaining myself sometimes.
Firon
Turn on sparse files (but don't do it on Vista). diskio.sparse_files in Advanced. It will only work for newly created files.
