Ultima
Telling us what modem, router, and firewall you're using? Making sure you set a static IP up for your computer outside of the router's DHCP range?
xeroeh
I have a Dlink Dir 615 router, Zhone modem, and windows firewall. I set up a static ip that is like my routers 192.168.1.xx
Ultima
Exact modem model please? Also, just setting a static IP up might not be sufficient for some routers. As I implied earlier, you should set a static IP up for your computer outside of the router's DHCP range.
xeroeh
ADSL2+ 4 Port Switch Bridge/Router is the model. so if my routers range is 192.168.1.xx what could i put it as?
GTHK
Is that how your router lists it's DHCP range? It'll be listed in the D-Link settings somewhere. Also, your modem sounds like a router as well. Has it been port forwarded or bridged? On the D-Link status page, what's the first half of your WAN/Internet IP address? And make note of the gateway address, that's how you'll connect to it if the WAN/Internet IP address is private.
