Ultima
Is there a crash dump in the µTorrent directory? If so, can you upload it? Thanks.
mpeg3s
I'm using Vista which doesn't permit access to the program files dirs. I don't see any utorrent dump file.Where would it be?Second Crash!Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: uTorrent.exe Application Version: 1.8.0.11813 Application Timestamp: 48a2610d Fault Module Name: hnetcfg.dll_unloaded Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 4791a6c2 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 7343c7fa OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.256.1 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 40d4 Additional Information 2: 4062ad41ec8067256aa4c5e2b56d3c79 Additional Information 3: 40d4 Additional Information 4: 4062ad41ec8067256aa4c5e2b56d3c79Read our privacy statement: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=50163&clcid=0x0409
thelittlefire
Not that uTorrent directory http://utorrent.com/faq.php#What_is_AppData.3FYou should see 1 .DMP file per crash if it was uTorrent. COmpress them and upload to http://mediafire.comI have a feeling you have http://utorrent.com/faq.php#Incompatible_software
mpeg3s
That file is not reported on my Vista search.I've gone with Avira lately. Any problems with it?
thelittlefire
I don't know... I recognized that hnetcfg.dll file, as being fingered for some crashing previously.. do you use a LAN VPN connection with/while running uTorrent?Edit: searching for Avira doesn't bring up too many problems, or places where it needed to be uninstalled. So if you want to try it I'd say go for it. Unfortunately I have not used it myself so I cannot help you specifically but http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=7862 has configuration instructions. Sirmont
I have a similar problem. Vista Business x64 SP1. uTorrent crashes every single time after a few seconds of usage (~30). It is completely unusable. It works fine, then after a few seconds it just freezes and stops responding. No operations are then doable. I have a dump file I could upload, if I knew how... (note that it wasn't automatically generated, I have ot use the Task Manager / Create Dump File feature).I looked at the compatibility list and I have none of the incompatible software. Also, CPU is 0%, process takes 5MB. No updates are done on the window (no cursor change for resize, etc.).Hope this helps a little. If you need the dump, tell me how to upload it. It's 50MB though. Thanks
thelittlefire
Please compress it.. they usually compress to at least 2:1 ratio... any format, ZIP RAR 7z. then upload it to http://mediafire.com and link it here.

Greg Hazel
Here's the link to the file:http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=ccaa36d069524d12d2db6fb9a8902bdaAlso, thought I'd mention I use AVG and I have TrayIt! installed. What version of uTorrnet is this? Assuming it's 1.8, this doesn't look like a uTorrent problem - the stack is entirely Vista64 related.
Sirmont
It's definitely a uTorrent problem since uTorrent is the only application which has a problem :/I don't have much experience with dumps, but I know that when I'm debugging my C++ apps, I often get those stacks and it's when an error occurs in a windows messaging thread. Yet, the problem is caused by a (or some) message that was sent by my app...Yet, it seems I have 1.7.7. I really though I had downloaded the last update. So I'll go and try that before you keep on debugging old code. Sorry about that.--------------No luck, 1.8 does the same thing.
