JZ1111
I have to do an OS reinstall. uTorrent will survive in the program file, but when I run uTorrent afterward will the in-progress data be lost?
thelittlefire
If you mean what most people mean by "reinstall", then yes. If you do a repair of the existing windows installation (ALSO an option when you insert and boot from the windows install disk, select "R" the repair option) no.Whatever you do, if you want to keep the uTorrent settings safe http://utorrent.com/faq.php#How_can_I_backup_my_settings.3F
JZ1111
I saw that the download file has partially completed uTorrent files. If the settings are saved, can these files be salvaged?
thelittlefire
The in-progress data is stored in resume.dat. As long as you see resume.dat in your %APPDATA% folder, yes OH, don't forget to backup the data on the partition... or at least to not format that one. JZ1111
I did the reinstall. The app data is there and so is the resume.dat file. Of course when I run uTorrent none of the downloads appear. The partial file are still in Downloads, but an error box reports a .ddl missing when I click on them. thelittlefire
Uhm, your resume.dat is blank. You need a backup Or use the migration guide from http://utorrent.com/guides.php to re-add the torrent and repath to your existing data.
