thelittlefire Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 What OS are you using? What is the full path to the Error status message .. You can see it in the General tab.
MSQUI Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 hullo, i have a similar problem. message i get states unable to save.torrent to`c:program...\then tittle of download. it gives me the option to retry or to cancel. my os is vista
thelittlefire Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 Vista doesn't allow saving to %PROGRAM FILES% . Have you set the Ctrl-P > Directories to \program files anywhere?
thelittlefire Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 I should correct myself, I BELIEVE you can save there when administrator... but as a normal user which uTorrent normally is... it's a bad idea to save there on Vista. Glad it fixed your issue.
rhelgest Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 I have a simular problem. When I try to download a file to the PC (as administrator) the file is not visable anywhere ( I have tried to download to several different directories), and when I try to go directy on open the torrent file from the web (should open utorrent directly) nothing happens. I use OS Vista, and everything worked 100% just a couple of weeks ago. I have checked the windows firewall and utorrents files are allowed (TCP and UDP in) Any ideas??? I am lost here. Thanks
thelittlefire Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 You should have created your own thread. Is there an error in the Logger tab saying "unable to load XXXXXXX.torrent"?You checked General tab > Save As? Right click > Open Containing Folder fails? What about from the Files tab?
rhelgest Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Hi. There is no errorsmessages under the Logger tab. General and files tab are both empty. I use utorrent v1.8 build 11813. I have tried Bitlord as well but the torrent just disapears. Can this be a problem somewhere in Vista?
thelittlefire Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 So what happens when you Ctrl-C copy the URL for the torrent, or right click "copy link address", go to uTorrent GUI Ctrl-U, and load the torrent that way?
rhelgest Posted September 27, 2008 Report Posted September 27, 2008 hi to copy the url directly into utorrent works. Why does this not open automatically in the utorrent? Any settings on the computer?
thelittlefire Posted September 27, 2008 Report Posted September 27, 2008 You should double check the filetype in your browser then. Remove the .TORRENT filetype, then either re-make it or, when a .TORRENT comes up next time, select the EXE file and "perform always" or whatever option is there.
rhelgest Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 Hi again. I am not sure I understood this correct. I tried the following in Internet Explorer . 1 : Tools, 2; Alternatives for internet, 3: Programs, 4: Internet Programs/Specify program 5: Attach a filetype to a program. (Here is the following filetypes attached to utorrent (.BC! and .btsearch and .torrent). I am not able to remove any of this, only choose between other program to open the files with. I tried to attach the .torrent file to another program and then back again to urorrent, but it still does not open automaticaly
GYPSEEE Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 Using windows 7. When I try to save, even after setting up designated files in C drive, it comes back 'cant save .torrent..... HELP!!
