Allocating disk space to downloads still in queue

Recommended Posts

I see. This is my problem with uTorrent: I have some queued downloads which I haven't started yet but are already taking up disk space.

When I open the 'New Downloads' folder (downloads that aren't finished or are still in the queue) and try to see the space occupied by the queued downloads by right click -> properties, Windows shows that some of my queued downloads are already taking up space (both actual size and size occupied on disk), even if I haven't started those downloads yet.

A disk-browsing tool I use, SequioaView, also shows that these queued downloads are already taking up space.

Will enabling diskio.sparse_files get rid of this problem? Any downsides if I enable this option?
