bosvru6469
I'm a noob so please be patient. I read the post on the Linksys WRT54GS. I am confused on which file I should download. When I go to the page I am directed to when I click on "HyperWRT2.1b1 Thibor (54GS only)", there are a dozen listed but none have this name. I currently have Firmware Version 4.70.6 and I am uploading at about 45 k/Bs with 3 torrents open. Not downloading anything right now. My port test shows "OK! Port 56881 is open and accepting connections."Is this good or bad? should I change firmware? if so, which file do I download. Thanks

bosvru6469
Sorry to bother you again. I have a few more questions before I change the firmware. I bypassed my router and put my cable directly to my PC from my modem. My upload speed did not change. So what will I gain by changing the firmware if the speed is the same with or without the router the way it is? Isn't the new firmware supposed to speed this up? Firon
If you bypass the router and get the same speeds, then the router isn't the bottleneck in your case. In any case, you probably should do it to AVOID future problems and the potential for the router to crash/freeze.
