magician13134
Hypothetically, of course, if someone were to have an external hard drive attached to their computer, and using that to store torrents and files, could this damage the external drive? What if the files were on the computer until they were downloaded, but they were then seeded from the external? Would any of this pose a problem to the lifespan of that hard drive? thelittlefire
Though torrents are generally random-access, given the 10,000's of hours MTBF torrenting exclusively on a hard drive isn't very detrimental to its use... from what I hear even less impact than those who turn on/off their externals daily.I would caution against using the external to store the torrents... at least for uT's torrent storage folder. When torrents are marked invalid, there is no recourse but a force recheck. This can take a minute to several hours, depending on the # of affected torrents and the speed/idle % of the computer. IndyDoug
I had the same problem after redirecting the file storage path in uTorrent to an external hard drive. Try rebooting your router. Everything works great after rebooting my router.
