squint Posted January 9, 2009 Report Share Posted January 9, 2009 When I use uTorrent to download torrents, my brother, who works at home, complains of slow internet speeds. I experience it too on my own computer (the one I'm downloading torrents on with uTorrent).When I use Azureus, this doesn't happen. Our internet is just as fast as it is if I'm not downloading torrents.What could be the cause of this?Is there an obvious troubleshooting step that I could take that I'm missing?Thanks for your help in advance! Siddhartha Posted January 15, 2009 Report Share Posted January 15, 2009 It is obvious that too many connections slow down ur internet just like every other iApp does. Remember: The slower ur connection is the better u do by not having the maximum standard of simultaneous connections.If this is not the case with you and ur settings and internet speed are normal, then try to find out what exactly takes the speed. Is it ur maximum allowed download speed ? Do you have xDSL and are using about 75% or more of ur maximum upload speed? Via x(any)DSL this significantly slows down ur internet.
