heyoldman Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 after looking in every possible folder that i've been suggested to look in by many posts i still don't see my %appdata% folder. can this bloody Vista hide it? this all started when i wanted to update the ip filter. utorrent sorta works ok but it freezes and locks up and runs in the back round with no tray icon at times - when utorrent works it runs minty! i`m runnin 32 bit Vista, dual core HPG60 lappy.
moogly Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 Clear the address bar in Windows Vista Explorer and type %appdata%\utorrent. Enter.
heyoldman Posted January 18, 2009 Author Report Posted January 18, 2009 no go - windows cannot find blah blah blah - it doesn't exist - go figure
moogly Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 The general path in Vista is:C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\uTorrentSelect the option to show hidden folders. And maybe are you using utorrent as a standalone exe ? So settings file will be in the same folder.
heyoldman Posted January 18, 2009 Author Report Posted January 18, 2009 well after installing the updater in the programs/utorrent folder and running it i now have the %appdata% folder i was lookin for. why it wasn't there in the first place is a good ? but who cares - ty moogly you steered me in the right direction!
