tonyray Posted March 1, 2009 Report Share Posted March 1, 2009 when I dl a torrent, my upspeed is always faster so what happens is I am still uploading at 70kps until the file is completly done.Would changing my upload speed to much lower in preferences move along the download speed since I have already completed the full upload? Switeck Posted March 4, 2009 Report Share Posted March 4, 2009 You misunderstand how BitTorrent works I think...You're uploading various parts of the torrent probably to multiple people...there is no reason to believe that when you've uploaded an equal amount of data as the torrent's size that you've uploaded ALL the torrent -- you quite likely uploaded many parts of it multiple times and other parts none at all!You SHOULD limit uTorrent's max upload speed to no more than around 80% of the sustainable max for your connection, otherwise the resulting bandwidth overloads CAN cripple download (and upload) speeds both in uTorrent and in web browsers and other internet-using applications!
