edwars2
I was downloading a multi-file torrent, and accidentally deleted one of the already downloaded files. Now I'm getting an "Element not found" error because it can't upload from that file, so the whole torrent shuts down. I don't need this file anymore, I just want it to finish downloading the remaining files. Is there some way to make it ignore the missing file, or will I just need to start the whole thing over again? Thanks for the help.

Cloudhurler
Go to the folder where utorrents saves its settings and downloading torrents (typically c:\documents and settings\[profile name]\application data\utorrent\) and erase resume.dat and resume.dat.old.These files store what torrents are downloading and what parts have already been downloaded, so after you delete them you'll have to reopen the torrents and µT will automatically check what's already present on you PC.I looked for an option in µT that would recheck what's on your disk but didn't find it, maybe it could be a useful new feature.Cheers
Ghost21
I presume that right-clicking on the torrent, force-recheck would also work.
Cloudhurler
That only works when the torrent is fully downloaded and seeding to recheck already downloaded pieces.
Firon
no, force re-check would work in all cases.

edwars2
Thank you all for your help. The Force Re-check option fixed it. I should have mentioned in my original post that I had tried selecting "Don't Download" and that did not work. Thanks again!
