Not connectable

The connection button is permanently red

After reading uTorrent help I ticked the "add windows firewall exception" and unticked the "randomize port each start"

No change!

Is there any more I can do as the connection button is still red : (

Any help would be much appreciated

cheers

Thanx Switeck

I know what a modem is but not a router

I'm afraid I'm more confused than ever

Perhaps I should pay a techie to take care of it

Just one more Question?

I seem to be able to do everything I want to with the button red (albeit slower) so, does it make any difference?......am I ruining it for others in some way

As you can see, I am not very knowledgeble in this area

and appreciate your patience

cheers : )

A router allows multiple computers to be connected to the same modem. It creates a private (LAN) network as well, so the computers are connected to each other as well.

Red = uTorrent is firewalled, nobody can connect incoming to you. HOWEVER you can make outgoing connections to others that are NOT firewalled. Since many are firewalled, you'll likely get lower speeds as a result. But that's preferable to none!

I'll wade thru the links you gave me and try to make sense of them
