Guest
Hi,Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this. Hopefully a quick question.I have started to look into the use of the proxy settings in the UT client. I have no problem finding and entering an elite proxy address. My question is this, why is it that the client still connects and downloads whatever I put in the proxy address and port fields?Cheers,Lockstock
Ultima
µTorrent uses a direct connection if the proxy fails. The ability to prevent that has been requested before.

Firon
No, it doesn't, Ultima. What happens is that incoming connections can still get to your real IP (which can be leaked through various methods). When the proxy drops, those connections obviously still keep going.
Ultima
http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=45894Right, I think I'm going to have to start deferring to my old answers now, because I feel like I'm starting to forget random stuff and spew silly falsities Sorry for the misinformation.
